Inspired by the folklore of the Green Man, the Folilarks are a symbol of life and death and rebirth in the crooked wood.
According to crooked folklore, they were once trees who grew tired of being rooted to the earth.
They watched for centuries as the birds would come and go
Wishing and longing for that kind of freedom.
The trees wanted to know what it would feel like to take to the skies.
And so they did just that.
They became birds with leaves instead of feathers and for a while, they blew wherever the wind would take them.
But the folilark soon realised that when their leaves began to fall during the leaf turning
that they were not destined to soar through the air and soon returned to the earth
To root
And from the earth they grew again.
You can size down if you want to wear them on top of the head rather than the face
During the Leaf Turning, the Wayfolk wear masks in their likeness to celebrate the cycle of life, death and rebirth.
These masks are better for DISPLAY than play and are a little fragile.
You have been warned!
